Axisweb bring three professional development sessions for recent graduates to Wales this autumn. Supported by Arts Council Wales, these events will take place in Cardiff and Swansea during September and October.

The first session will be on Friday 13 September at Cardiff School of Art and Design. Out and Beyond – What to do next after graduation, presented in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University and g39, will provide hands-on advice about supporting your career after study. Speakers include Emilia Telese, a featured artist in a-n’s new graduate publication, Signpost. Telese regularly runs popular workshops for a-n, including a recent presentation at UAL’s Artsmart graduate event.

The day of surgeries, workshops and presentations will cover everything from filling in grant applications to promotional tact. Other speakers include Kit Poulson; g39’s Chris Brown; Mission Gallery’s Amanda Roderick; Phil Lambert; Shaun James and Axisweb’s Lesley Guy.

The second event takes place on Tuesday 17 September at Chapter, Cardiff. Developing your digital footprint – creating and presenting engaging digital content is a practical workshop led by digital consultant Emma Hutson. The day will provide guidance on planning, measuring and disseminating your material online.

Lastly, on Thursday 3 October at Swansea Metropolitan University, Developing an effective web presence will be an afternoon of discussions led by Axisweb and Dawn Giles of Bedford Creative Arts. Covering the impact of digital trends on artists’ web presence, it will consider how artists can evolve in response to this and explore strategies for communicating art practice online.

All sessions are free but booking is essential with limited numbers.
